I know that many of you are facing difficult decisions since you now must choose between offers from several wonderful schools. How do you choose?
Below I've noted a few links to some information that might be helpful. Remember that whatever school you choose, your experience is made up of much more than your schedule of classes each semester. You want to have a selection of interesting and useful classes, but the students in those classes and the activities swirling around you will often have more impact on you and your college experience as a whole than one single class.
If you want to visit, now's the time! Register for the Plan II information session, see the dates of information sessions/class visits, find maps, and more at VISIT Plan II.
If you can't visit, you can download the 16-page Plan II booklet that we use at the information session. It includes information on the core curriculum, test credits, study abroad, student organizations, and much more!
Contact a Plan II student: You will find a long list of students willing to answer questions about their experiences at UT, in Plan II, in the dorms, in Plan II Honors and UT Austin student organizations, etc. Each student’s double-major and/or dual-degree information (including pre-med and pre-law) is noted. Feel free to contact as many email ambassadors as you wish. Ask them questions about their experience, such as:
What do you like, (or not like)
* about Plan II?
* about UT?
* about the students, the faculty, the campus, or about living in Austin?
* about combining with another major?
* How did you manage your time?
* What activities are in you outside of the class room?
* What do you think of your classes outside of Plan II?
etc., etc. etc....d
Please note: We discourage students from giving any formal/direct “advising,” because we want to be sure every Plan II student gets solid information from our trained, professional admissions and advising staff. They are welcome to share their personal experiences!
